What is Phyllite? (fĭl'īt')

Phyllite is the newest stone to be added to eggersmann's Unique Collection offering the furniture design fabricated 100% from this natural material. Phyllite is a metamorphic rock primarily composed of quartz, sericite mica, and chlorite. The black stone surface of phyllite is lustrous and has a beautiful veining and a texture similar to slate with the sparkle of mica scattered throughout.
